The Rapture
coming 06.06.06

No one knows the Rapture is coming as the clock silently ticks down.
Choices are made
the stage is set
in the twinkling of an eye millions disappear without a trace. Heaven rejoices as millions are welcomed into the unspeakable presence of God. The darkest days may lie ahead for those who have been left behind. More

Writing The Rapture was much like writing Glorious Appearing, trying to do justice to one of the greatest events that will ever happen in the history of the cosmos. I thrilled with the characters as they were transported to the portals of heaven and faced the Judgment Seat of Christ.
In many ways the biblical accounts of heaven are mysterious and wondrous, and the challenge to a writer is to sift the literal from the figurative and speculate on how things might look and feel. I consider that a rare privilege and a lot of fun.
On behalf of Dr. LaHaye and me, thanks so much for your loyal support over the years. I trust you'll find The Rapture a fitting conclusion to the Left Behind prequel series and that you look forward, as we do, to the final prequel next year.

Who Are the Two Witnesses?
An excerpt from The Authorized Left Behind Handbook
No one ever saw them come or go; none knew where they were from. They had appeared strange and weird from the beginning, wearing their burlap-like sackcloth robes and appearing barefoot. They were muscular and yet bony, with leathery skin; dark, lined faces; and long, scraggly hair and beards. Some said they were Moses and Elijah reincarnate, but if Buck had to guess, he would have said they were the two Old Testament characters themselves.

Dinner with the Vice President
The talk was all Iran, Iraq, and Israel.
by Joel Rosenberg

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 30, 2006Wednesday night I attended a black tie dinner at the Washington Hilton put on by the Radio and Television Correspondents Association and featuring Vice President Cheney. It was a sumptuous affair, and Cheney was actually hilarious, ribbing the press, offering to take them on his next hunting trip, and describing himself as a "real party animal." But at my table, at least, and at several tables around me, the talk was the three Is'sIsrael, Iraq, and Iran.
Lt. General Thomas McInerneyformer Assistant Vice Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force and author of Endgame: The Blueprint for Victory in the War on Terrorwas blunt: the Iranians are near or past the "point of no return," and Bush has six months to unleash a thousand points of light to shut down the mullah's military capability and try to decapitate the regime. Israeli Elections
In Israel's elections last week, the newly formed Kadima party of prime minister Ariel Sharon garnered a narrower-than-hoped-for victory, but the right to form a coalition government. The primary platform of Kadima has been the land-for-peace position adopted by Sharon, in which Israel has begun withdrawing from and ceding much of the territories it has occupied since 1967 to the Palestinian Authority. This is in stark contrast to the Zionist hope of a fully restored Israel.
Prophecy Club Newsletter editor and leftbehind.com contributor Dr. Stu Johnson has compiled this report on last week's elections. More
